Why We Shouldn't Have Daylight Savings Time

2024-03-13

I'm lying in bed, pleasantly sleeping when it's supposed to be 6am. Then my alarm goes off. Later, at school, I am very tired. Why do you think this is? This is all the fault of daylight savings time.

Daylight savings time is a thing the government does so that in the summer we have daylight in the evenings but in the winter it's light out when kids are walking to school. They think it probably wouldn't be fun to walk to school in the dark. For the record, I think it would be very fun!

Though, for safety reasons, I do understand why they did this. But why can't kids use flashlights, headlamps, and reflective clothing? I also think that people who drive cars may have a hard time seeing, but still everybody apart from the driving in the dark would be a lot happier without daylight savings time.

At schools on that day there's not much that gets done, because everyone is just very tired and moping about it. Also, some students may have tests on that day and it can be very challenging to get a good grade.

This is why I think that people should not have daylight savings time. If you're reading this, please talk to your representative and ask them to change this.
